Who we are

HCF Eyecare operates eight eye care centres in New South Wales. They are located in Sydney (CBD), Parramatta, Hurstville, Chatswood, Bondi Junction, Brookvale, Burwood and Blacktown. These Centres provide retail optical services to HCF members, including the sale of glasses, contact lenses and sunglasses.

All HCF Eyecare centres are equipped with computerised technology to ensure that members are well looked after and have visual field and retinal digital imaging equipment.

At HCF Eyecare we are passionate about your eye care, customer service and eye wear. That is why we developed the HCF Eyecare Circle for HCF Members; our 4 step process: Listen, Check, Protect and Choose

  • In 2003 HCF Eyecare and Associated Optometrist was the first eye care centres in N.S.W. to attain Quality in Practice accreditation against standards developed by the Optometrists Association Australia.

  • In 2012 HCF Eyecare became the first recognised provider of the HCF More for Eyes program

  • In 2014 HCF Eyecare and Associated Optometrists were the first eye care centres in Australia to be accredited by Quality Innovation and Performance against the Australian National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.

Optometry

All HCF Eyecare Associated Optometrists are registered with the Optometry Board of Australia and are Members of Optometry Australia / NSW

Regular eye examinations ensure the right prescription and early detection of any optical condition or eye disease. This is especially important for growing children, people over 40 and those who frequently work with computers. Regardless of how well you see, it is important to get your eyes tested regularly.

Your optometrist is the best placed person to advise you when your eyes should be re-examined.

Medicare covers most consultations, please bring your Medicare card with you for bulk-billing.

Therapeutics

HCF Eyecare Associated Optometrists with therapeutic qualifications can assess, diagnose and prescribe for minor eye disorders such as eye infections, allergies and contact lens related problems. This enables easier and faster access to treatment for some common eye problems.

Should you require further assessment by an eye specialist, your optometrist will be able to evaluate your eye condition, and provide an appropriate timely referral to an ophthalmologist.

Safety and Quality Accreditation

HCF Eyecare and Associated Optometrists were the first eye care centres in Australia to be accredited by QIP against the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
HCF Eyecare and Associated Optometrists were previously the first eye care centres in NSW to be accredited by QIP against practice standards developed by the Optometrists Association Australia.
Accreditation is independent recognition that HCF Eyecare and Associated Optometrists are committed to safety and quality.
